Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our fencing services
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes! We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all fencing projects. Simply give us a call or fill out our contact form, and we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit your property and assess the job.
Do I need council approval for a fence?
In most cases, standard boundary fences under 2 metres don’t require council approval. However, pool fences, fences over 2 metres, or fences on corner blocks may require approval. We can advise you on the specific requirements for your project.
How long does installation take?
Installation time varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. A standard residential fence typically takes 1-3 days to complete. Larger commercial projects or complex installations may take longer. We’ll provide you with an estimated timeline during the quoting process.
Do you remove old fences?
Yes, we offer old fence removal as part of our service. We can remove and dispose of your existing fence before installing the new one. This is usually included in our quote if required.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. Fencing & Hammers is fully insured. We carry public liability insurance and all necessary certifications to perform fencing work in NSW. You can have complete peace of mind knowing your property is protected.
What types of fencing do you install?
We specialize in Colorbond steel fencing, timber fencing (paling, picket, privacy), glass and aluminium pool fencing, chain wire and rural fencing, and gates (manual and automatic). Whatever your fencing needs, we have a solution.
How do I prepare for fence installation?
Before installation day, please ensure clear access to the fence line, remove any items or plants close to where the fence will be installed, and if possible, let your neighbours know about the work. We’ll handle everything else!
